At present, there are more than 100 domestic automobile body mold manufacturing enterprises with a certain scale, and 20 of them have an output value of more than 100 million yuan. The number of large-scale CNC machine tools exceeds 800, which is close to or surpassing Germany, the United States, and Japan. Domestic mold companies have gradually begun to produce vehicle body-in-white molds. Welding companies also have the production capacity from the four-door chassis assembly, side panel assembly to the main body-in-white welding line, and the main technology is close to the international advanced level. The large-scale and complex die is represented by automobile cover molds, which have been able to produce cover molds for some new types of cars, reflecting the coverage of multi-station progressive dies with high-level manufacturing technology. In terms of large-scale plastic molds, it has been able to produce molds for automobile bumpers and integral instrument panels. In terms of precision plastic molds, it has been able to produce multi-cavity small module gear molds and plastic packaging molds.
The “Twelfth Five-Year” Mold Industry Development Plan has formulated development goals for the next few years, and the development of high-end molds is one of its key development goals. High-end molds are known for their high technical level and high added value, and are increasingly being valued by my country’s mold manufacturers. For the long-term development of the company, domestic efforts are being made to develop high-end mold production.
The “Automobile Manufacturing Industry Adjustment and Revitalization Plan” requires: independent research and development of key parts and components technology, new energy vehicle special parts and components technology must reach the international advanced level, implementation of key die casting parts and components industrialization, and independent public testing institutions that combine production, learning, and research. The construction of key component technology, the production system of automobile generator power modules, and the mastery of body development technology are all reflected in an important automobile mold technology; the growth of the automobile industry is mainly due to policy growth, which benefits from the country’s response to the financial crisis and guarantees A series of plans for growth and structural adjustment.
In its essence, molds are only tooling, and producing qualified products is the ultimate goal. Therefore, the quality and performance of the mold can only be reflected by the quality of the final product. To truly reflect the designer’s design ideas and design intentions into the mold to produce qualified products, the debugging process is particularly important, and the experience of the debugging fitter determines the quality of the product to a certain extent. At present, although the domestic mold industry still has a gap with foreign first-class mold companies in many aspects, China’s mold industry has gradually formed large-scale and market-oriented development after nearly 10 years of rapid development, showing many bright spots.
The “Plan for the Adjustment and Revitalization of the Equipment Manufacturing Industry” issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2009 clearly stated that the focus should be on the development of precision stamping dies, and the “Implementation Plan for the Revitalization of the Mechanical Basic Parts Industry” issued in October 2010 clearly stated that breakthroughs should be made in high-end car panels.
